§277h Authority of the International Boundary and Water Commission to assist State and local governments

The U.S. Commissioner for the International Boundary and Water Commission can provide technical help — like tests, evaluations, surveys, or similar services — to state or local governments when they ask. The state or local government must pay for these services. Payments must be made in advance for the estimated or actual cost the Commission sets.
