Defines key words used later. CFE Treaty means the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, signed in Paris on November 19, 1990. "Conventional armaments and equipment limited by the CFE Treaty" means whatever that term is defined to mean in paragraph 1(J) of article II of the CFE Treaty. NATO means the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. NATO/CFE country means a NATO member that is a party to the CFE Treaty and is listed in paragraph 1(A) of article II among those that signed or acceded to the 1948 Treaty of Brussels or the 1949 Treaty of Washington (the North Atlantic Treaty). Country of the Eastern Group of States Parties means a state listed in paragraph 1(A) of article II that signed the 1955 Treaty of Warsaw or a successor state.
