The President, with the Senate’s approval, must appoint a governor of the Bank and an alternate. The governor and alternate serve five-year terms. The President must also appoint an executive director and an alternate. The executive director serves three years (except as provided in article XV, section 3 of the agreement). All appointees stay in their jobs until successors are named. None may receive any salary or other pay from the United States.
