The President must pick a United States representative and no more than two alternates to attend a specified session or sessions of the general council of the Organization. If the United States joins the executive committee, the President must also pick a representative and no more than one alternate for executive committee sessions; these can be the same people or different ones. Each representative may be paid up to $12,000 per year and each alternate up to $10,000 per year for the times the President sets. Members of the Senate or House, or United States officers chosen as representatives, may not receive this pay.
