Title 22 › Chapter CHAPTER 7— - INTERNATIONAL BUREAUS, CONGRESSES, ETC. › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER XXII— - AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT FUND › § 290g–23
The Secretary of the Treasury may give up to $54,620,000 on behalf of the United States to the African Development Fund. The money is for paying debt relief costs under the Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative during the Fund’s thirteenth replenishment. This payment depends on Congress providing the funds and does not change any funding arrangements that were in place on December 16, 2014. Congress may appropriate up to $54,620,000 for that payment, and the funds can be used without a fiscal year limit. The “Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative” means the G8 Finance Ministers’ plan in the “Conclusions on Development” from London on June 11, 2005, which G8 leaders confirmed at the Gleneagles Summit on July 8, 2005.
