Title 22 › Chapter CHAPTER 48— - TAIWAN RELATIONS › § 3314
Defines two terms used in this chapter. "Laws of the United States" means any federal or local statute, rule, regulation, ordinance, order, or court decision. "Taiwan" means the islands of Taiwan and the Pescadores, the people, businesses and other groups formed under their laws, and the government the United States recognized as the Republic of China before January 1, 1979, plus any later successor governments, including local agencies.
