Title 22 › Chapter CHAPTER 52— - FOREIGN SERVICE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER VIII— - FOREIGN SERVICE RETIREMENT AND DISABILITY › Part Part II— - Foreign Service Pension System › § 4071h
The Secretary of State must run the Foreign Service Pension System, except for Thrift Savings Plan matters in subchapters III and VII of chapter 84, title 5, and has the OPM powers under that chapter to make rules. Decisions that would go to the Merit Systems Protection Board instead go to the Foreign Service Grievance Board, but disability decisions follow section 4048. Every 5 years the Secretary of the Treasury must value the system and report the normal cost, supplemental liability, and funding needed.
