Title 22 › Chapter CHAPTER 78— - TRAFFICKING VICTIMS PROTECTION › § 7104e
U.S. embassies, consulates, and missions must pick one employee to take reports from people who were victims of severe trafficking in the United States, or from anyone who has information about such victims ("severe trafficking" means serious human trafficking). The reports must be sent to the Department of Justice, Department of Labor, Department of Homeland Security, and other federal agencies, which must create a way to respond. With the victim’s permission and without putting them at risk, the assigned employee can work with the victim’s home country or local groups to get extra help.
