It gives short meanings or points to other laws for the full definition. “agricultural commodity” means what section 5602 of title 7 says. “appropriate congressional committees” means what section 14 of the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 (Public Law 104–172; 50 U.S.C. 1701 note) says, as changed by section 102 of this Act. “executive agency” means what section 133 of title 41 says. “family member” means a spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandchild, or grandparent. “Iranian diplomat or representative of another government or military or quasi-governmental institution of Iran” means the people described by section 14 of the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996. “knowingly” means having actual knowledge or that a person should have known. “medical device” means the “device” in section 321 of title 21. “medicine” means the “drug” in section 321 of title 21. “State” lists the States, DC, Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and any other U.S. territory or possession. “United States person” means a natural person who is a U.S. citizen, resident, or national (see section 1101(a) of title 8), or an entity organized under U.S. or State law.
