Naval hospitals and dispensaries outside the continental U.S. and in Alaska may provide care to officers and employees of the Federal Government, employees of U.S. contractors or subcontractors, their dependents, and, in emergencies, other people the Secretary of the Navy allows. Care for people who are not Navy or Marine Corps dependents is allowed only when suitable non‑Federal hospitals are not reasonably available; the President sets the charges, and payments are deposited as provided in section 32 of this title.
