The Secretary, through the Service, must provide health promotion and disease prevention services to Indians so they meet the health goals in section 1602(b). For every report the Secretary must send to Congress under section 1671, the Secretary must give the President an evaluation of four things: the health promotion and disease prevention needs of Indians; which activities would best meet those needs; the Service’s ability to do those activities; and the resources needed to carry them out.
