Title 25 › Chapter CHAPTER 18— - INDIAN HEALTH CARE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II— - HEALTH SERVICES › § 1621y
After March 23, 2010, the Comptroller General must give the Secretary, the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, the House Committee on Natural Resources, and every Indian tribe a report about the contract health service program. The report must show past funding, recommend how much funding is needed, and explain how the program and its money distribution work. Congress asked for this study in March 2009 (or under section 1680t). When the Secretary gets the report, the Secretary must talk with Indian tribes. They must check if the current money formula would need to change at the recommended funding level; find any unfair results now or under the new funding level; spot administrative problems that cause inefficiency; and suggest fixes. If unfair results are found, the Secretary may begin the procedures under subchapter III of chapter 5 of title 5 to negotiate or make rules that set a disbursement formula.
