Indian tribes providing health care services pursuant to a contract entered into under the Indian Self-Determination Act [25 U.S.C. 5321 et seq.] may lease permanent structures for the purpose of providing such health care services without obtaining advance approval in appropriation Acts.

Amendments

1992—Pub. L. 102–573, § 807, amended section generally. Prior to amendment, section read as follows: “(a) The Secretary, through the Service, shall make grants to the Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Council, San Juan Pueblo, New Mexico, for the purpose of providing substance abuse treatment services to Indians in need of such services. “(b) There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $250,000 for each of the fiscal years 1990 and 1991.”
