Title 25 › Chapter CHAPTER 20— - TRIBALLY CONTROLLED COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ASSISTANCE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - TRIBAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT › § 1851
The Secretary may give grants, when money is available, to colleges or universities run by tribes that already get federal grants under this law or the Navajo Community College Act. The grants are for setting up and supporting tribal economic development and education centers. Grants must pay for things like finding tribal economic needs (including farming and natural resources), making courses for students and tribal leaders, offering vocational classes with student supports, giving technical help and training for officials and business planners, coordinating vocational and related training, and checking how well the grants work. Grants should be big enough and last long enough to succeed and produce useful data. Schools can apply alone or with others, and must work with one or more tribes when planning and running a grant.
