Title 25 › Chapter CHAPTER 20— - TRIBALLY CONTROLLED COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ASSISTANCE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IV— - TRIBALLY CONTROLLED POSTSECONDARY CAREER AND TECHNICAL INSTITUTIONS › § 1862
If money is available, starting in fiscal year 2009 and every year after, the Secretary must pick two tribally controlled postsecondary career and technical schools to get help. The Secretary must give money to those schools to pay the costs of running career and technical programs for Indian students, including support costs. If the Secretary finds the two named schools meet the law’s definition, those two must be chosen: United Tribes Technical College and Navajo Technical College. Each year the money is paid in one lump sum. Each chosen school gets whichever is larger: the amount it was appropriated in fiscal year 2006 or the amount it was appropriated in fiscal year 2008, from funds made available under section 1864. If extra money remains, the excess is split among the chosen schools based on their Indian student counts from the prior school year, using the method in section 2327(h).
