§2303 Notice

Summary

Within 180 days after October 19, 1984, the Secretary must publish in the Federal Register a list of trust estates that had unauthorized payments and show how much was taken from each. Within 30 days of that publication, the Secretary must send a copy of the law and the notice (or the relevant parts) to every Indian tribe, band, group, or affected individual. They have 180 days from that notice to send in any extra unauthorized payment claims. Within 30 days after that claim period ends, the Secretary must publish a second Federal Register list of those additional claims.
