Title 25 › Chapter CHAPTER 36— - INDIAN EMPLOYMENT, TRAINING AND RELATED SERVICES › § 3404
Allows an Indian tribe or tribal organization with an approved plan to combine certain federal programs into one employment and training program. Only programs that focus on job training, welfare‑to‑work, creating jobs, skill development, helping youth and adults enter the workforce, encouraging self‑sufficiency, work experience, economic development, or services tied to those goals can be included. Programs must give funds to the tribe or its members by a formula, because of their Indian status, or by a noncompetitive award or specific designation. Block grants to a tribe may also be included. After a plan is approved, the Secretary must work with the Attorney General and the Secretaries of Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Labor, Transportation, and Veterans Affairs to allow the tribe to coordinate and combine the covered federally funded employment, training, and related services into one consolidated program.
