The Attorney General can give grants and technical help to Indian tribes so they can build and run tribal justice programs. That support covers making and updating tribal laws and sentencing rules, creating tribal and inter‑tribal courts and appeals, setting up probation, diversion, and alternative sentencing, running juvenile services and child‑abuse protocols, and using traditional tribal justice and dispute‑resolution methods. The Attorney General can work with the Office of Tribal Justice and other tribal or federal officials, and can make rules and guidelines needed to carry out these programs. Money as needed was authorized for fiscal years 2011 through 2015.
