Title 25 › Chapter CHAPTER 43— - NATIVE AMERICAN HOUSING ASSISTANCE AND SELF-DETERMINATION › § 4104
The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development can waive the rule that an Indian housing authority must provide matching or supplemental money for a housing program in any fiscal year if that authority did not get funds that year under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 [42 U.S.C. 5301 et seq.]. The waiver only lasts for that fiscal year and ends if the authority later receives Title I funds. A "housing program" here means HUD or USDA (through the Farmers Home Administration) programs that give housing help like grants, loans, contracts, cooperative agreements, or loan insurance or guarantees.
