Title 25 › Chapter CHAPTER 48— - INDIAN TRUST ASSET REFORM › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - IMPROVING EFFICIENCY AND STREAMLINING PROCESSES › § 5636
When the Office of the Special Trustee stops running a program or part of a program because jobs and duties move, the Secretary must figure out how much money would have been spent on each item. The Secretary must give a list of those programs and the dollar amounts to tribal representatives on the Tribal‑Interior Budget Council and other Indian budget advisors. Within 90 days of getting the list, those advisors may send recommendations on how to reassign or use the savings or include them in future budget requests to the Secretary, the Office of Management and Budget, and the relevant House and Senate committees (Appropriations, House Natural Resources, and Senate Indian Affairs).
