Defines important words used in this chapter. An "amateur sports organization" is a person or government that runs competitive games with amateur athletes, or a league made of those groups. A "professional sports organization" is the same but for professional athletes. A "governmental entity" is a State, a local government, or another group with government power inside U.S. territory, including entities and lands listed in 25 U.S.C. 2703(5) and 25 U.S.C. 2703(4). "Person" is as defined in section 1 of title 1. "State" includes the States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, and any U.S. territory or possession.
