§5937 RULES OF CONSTRUCTION.

Title 28 › Part PART III— - COURT OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES › § 5937

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

Lets news organizations investigate and report alleged crimes or bad behavior by an at-risk person or their close family. It also allows reporting about those people on matters of public concern. It does not stop access to a federal judge’s public decisions or opinions. It allows covered information to be shared or published if the at-risk person or their close family gives written consent. It also does not stop a data broker from sharing information with Federal, State, Tribal, or local government. The rules must be read in a way that strongly favors protecting the covered information of at-risk individuals and their immediate family members.
