The Secretary of Labor and the Secretary of the Treasury must study how people use emergency savings held inside individual retirement accounts, including pension-linked emergency savings. The study must check whether the dollar limit and the contribution-rate limit are appropriate, how often plans offer these accounts, who uses them, and how they affect retirement savings, especially for low- and moderate-income households. They must send a report of the findings to Congress no later than 7 years after December 29, 2022.
