Summary

The corporation can make rules that require the sponsor of a multiemployer plan to notify the corporation about certain employer withdrawals. The notice must be given when an employer leaves and that leaving has caused or will cause a large drop in the total contributions made by employers to the plan.

The corporation may, by regulation, require the plan sponsor of a multiemployer plan to provide notice to the corporation when the withdrawal from the plan by any employer has resulted, or will result, in a significant reduction in the amount of aggregate contributions under the plan made by employers.
