The Center may keep registries of people who are deaf-blind in each regional field office of its network to help provide services. No one can be forced to give information for these registries. The Center and its network cannot share registry data outside the Center unless the person gives specific written permission. Section 552a of title 5 (commonly known as the Privacy Act of 1974) applies to personally identifiable information. If asked, the Center must remove a person’s information.
