Summary

Directors of every Job Corps center must build and keep business and community connections that help both the center and the local area do better. These ties should include employers (local and farther away), one-stop centers and local boards for recruiting and job leads, apprenticeship and youth programs, labor groups, contractors tied to training, and community and nonprofit workforce groups. Directors must tell neighbors about center projects or rule changes and plan events with the community. If a center is not open yet, these connections must be in place at least 3 months before the first enrollee arrives.
