Anyone who knowingly breaks these rules, lies or leaves out important facts in required documents, or knowingly hides, withholds, or destroys required books or records can be fined up to $10,000, put in jail for up to one year, or both. People who must sign the reports required by sections 431 and 433 are personally responsible for sending those reports and for any statement in them they know is false.
