Title 29 › Chapter CHAPTER 11— - LABOR-MANAGEMENT REPORTING AND DISCLOSURE PROCEDURE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER VII— - MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS › § 523
Unless the chapter says otherwise, nothing here takes away or reduces the duties or legal rights that a labor union, its officers, agents, shop stewards, representatives, or any trust tied to a union have under other federal or state laws. Union members also keep whatever remedies those other laws give them. Also, nothing in this chapter or in section 186(a)–(c) replaces or weakens the Railway Labor Act (45 U.S.C. 151 et seq.) or the rights and duties of those covered by it. Nor does this chapter give employers new defenses or reduce anyone’s rights under the National Labor Relations Act (29 U.S.C. 151 et seq.).
