Summary

Keeps the filing rules in sections 314(b) and 314(c) of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 in force for claims and for mill or tunnel sites that must pay fees under these parts. Those FLPMA filing requirements still apply and are not changed. The Secretary of the Interior must update the fees in sections 28f–28k to match changes in the Consumer Price Index from the Bureau of Labor Statistics every 5 years after August 10, 1993, or sooner if the Secretary finds it reasonable. The Secretary must notify claimants of any change by July 1 of the year the change is made. The new fee applies in the first assessment year that starts after the change.
