The Secretary of Labor must set up and run field offices to help miners and their survivors file and process claims under this law. These offices should be placed where miners and survivors can reach them when possible, and the Secretary can work with federal or state agencies to use their buildings and staff if separate offices aren’t practical. Money can be provided as needed to pay for these offices.
