Title 31 › Subtitle SUBTITLE V— - GENERAL ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION › Chapter CHAPTER 69— - PAYMENT FOR ENTITLEMENT LAND › § 6905
The Secretary of the Interior must pay each year any local government that has U.S. land inside Redwood National Park. Those payments follow the rules in section 6903 and include the amounts set out there. Local governments can spend the money on any public purpose. In addition, the Secretary must make yearly payments to local governments that have land the Government owns in Redwood National Park or land bought in the Lake Tahoe Basin under the Act of December 23, 1980 (Public Law 96–586, 94 Stat. 3383). Those payments follow section 6904 and include amounts from that section. Any amount figured but not paid because of limits in section 6904 will be carried forward and used in later years until it is fully applied. The Redwoods Community College District is treated as a school district under section 6904(b).
