§1414c Prohibition on disposal of sewage sludge at landfills on Staten Island

Summary

No one may dump sewage sludge in any landfill on Staten Island, New York. People who break this rule will not face other penalties under this law, but a lawsuit or a court order (injunction) can still be filed under section 1415. "Sewage sludge" is defined in section 1414b.

(a)No person shall dispose of sewage sludge at any landfill located on Staten Island, New York.
(b)(1)Subject to paragraph (2), a person who violates this section shall not be subject to any penalty under this Act.
(2)Paragraph (1) shall not prohibit the bringing of an action for, or the granting of, an injunction under section 1415 of this title with respect to a violation of this section.
(c)For purposes of this section, the term “sewage sludge” has the meaning such term has in section 1414b of this title.
