§3504b Agreements and financial assistance

Summary

Federal agencies that are members of the Interagency Committee on Ocean and Coastal Mapping can, if funds are available, make agreements with each other to share facilities, equipment, services, staff, and other support—either for repayment (reimbursable) or without repayment (nonreimbursable)—to help carry out the chapter’s purposes. The Administrator can give financial help, like grants or cooperative agreements, to states, local governments, public or private groups, or individuals to carry out the chapter’s purposes.

(a)Subject to the availability of appropriations for such purpose, the head of a Federal agency that is represented on the Interagency Committee on Ocean and Coastal Mapping may enter into agreements with any other agency that is so represented to provide, on a reimbursable or nonreimbursable basis, facilities, equipment, services, personnel, and other support services to carry out the purposes of this chapter.
(b)The Administrator may make financial assistance awards (grants of cooperative agreements) to any State or subdivision thereof or any public or private organization or individual to carry out the purposes of this chapter.
