Title 33 › Chapter CHAPTER 12— - RIVER AND HARBOR IMPROVEMENTS GENERALLY › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - GENERAL PROVISIONS › § 579e

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

The Secretary must use available funds to put online information about every federal real estate asset in the United States that the Corps of Engineers owns, operates, manages, or keeps in custody. The posted data must include standardized property plat descriptions and any GIS or geospatial data tied to those assets. The Secretary must talk with the Administrator of General Services about how to share the information, and it may be added to the Federal real property database under section 21 of the Federal Assets Sale and Transfer Act of 2016 (Public Law 114–287). The Administrator is not forced to add new database features if they are impractical or costly. Confidential, privileged, national security, personal, or otherwise legally protected information must not be disclosed. The Secretary must act as soon as practicable. This requirement does not change or remove any Corps duties under the Federal real property database (section 21 of Public Law 114–287).
