Title 33 › Chapter CHAPTER 15— - FLOOD CONTROL › § 701h–1
A State or local government can give advance money for an approved federal water project. The Secretary of the Army can accept and spend that money right away and, if Congress provides repayment funds, must pay it back with no interest. Money given to meet local cooperation rules or under section 701h will not be repaid. "State" includes the States, the District of Columbia, commonwealths, territories, possessions, and Indian tribes (see section 5304(e) of title 25).
