§911 Guardian for minor or incompetent

Summary

The deputy commissioner can ask a court that has authority to appoint a guardian or other representative for anyone who is a minor or who is mentally unable to manage their affairs. That guardian will collect any payments due to the person under this chapter and will carry out the duties and use the powers the person would have under this chapter.

The deputy commissioner may require the appointment by a court of competent jurisdiction, for any person who is mentally incompetent or a minor, of a guardian or other representative to receive compensation payable to such person under this chapter and to exercise the powers granted to or to perform the duties required of such person under this chapter.
