Every state or local government that gets a grant under this law must send a yearly report to the Attorney General, in the time and way the Attorney General asks. The report must cover five things, including a short review of the program and any changes in forensic lab capability, the average days from sending a sample to getting results, what kinds and how many cases the lab handles, progress by any unaccredited lab toward accreditation, and any other information the Attorney General asks for. Within 90 days after a fiscal year in which one or more grants were awarded, the Attorney General must send the Speaker of the House and the President pro tempore of the Senate a report showing the total grant money for that year and a summary of the state and local reports.
