Summary

Grants for the program can pay for prison-based family treatment for parents in prison who have minor children, but not for parents if there is reasonable evidence they committed domestic violence or child abuse. Grants can also pay for residential drug treatment, help prisons work with government agencies, hire public or nonprofit groups to treat nonviolent parent drug offenders in the program, and cover staff, facility, and other direct costs to run the program.
