The Attorney General must use no more than 5 percent of the program’s money for administration and technical help. A grant can be renewed for up to 2 additional years after the first fiscal year the recipient gets its first grant, but only if money is available and the Attorney General decides that earlier funds were spent as the approved application required and that more money is needed to carry out the community prosecution program in the comprehensive plan required by section 12223.
