The Attorney General must study and report to the States and to Congress on how States can build central databases that track sexual and domestic violence offenses. While doing the study, the Attorney General must talk with people who know how to collect criminal justice data, state statistical officials, law enforcement, and nonprofit groups that help victims, and the final report must include the views of those people about the recommendations. The study must be finished and the report sent to the Senate and House Judiciary Committees by September 13, 1995. Up to $200,000 is authorized to be appropriated for fiscal year 1996 to carry out this work.
