Title 34 › Subtitle Subtitle I— - Comprehensive Acts › Chapter CHAPTER 121— - VIOLENT CRIME CONTROL AND LAW ENFORCEMENT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER VII— - POLICE CORPS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TRAINING AND EDUCATION › Part Part B— - Law Enforcement Scholarship Program › § 12577
People who want a scholarship or a job under this program must apply to their state. The state can set the deadline, the way to apply, and what papers or facts to send. The application must say what school courses the person wants the scholarship for, or where and how long the person wants to work if asking for a job. When picking who gets help, the state must put first people who are from racial, ethnic, or gender groups that are underrepresented in the state's law enforcement, who are working on an undergraduate degree, and who are not getting financial help under the Higher Education Act of 1965.
