Summary

Anyone who gets a scholarship must sign an agreement with the Director. The agreement must promise that after finishing the schoolwork for an associate, bachelor, or graduate degree, the recipient will work in a law enforcement job in the State that gave the scholarship. It must also say the recipient will pay back the full scholarship if they don't follow the rules, unless they die, become physically or emotionally disabled as shown by a signed statement from a qualified doctor, or are discharged in bankruptcy. The agreement must also explain how a recipient may try to work in law enforcement in a different State. The work time required is 1 month for each credit hour paid by the scholarship, but never less than 6 months and never more than 2 years.
