Sex offenders must give certain personal details to the agency that keeps the sex offender registry. This includes their name and any nicknames, Social Security number, all places they live, where they work or study, vehicle plate number and description, planned travel outside the United States with dates, flights, carriers, destination contact info, purpose and other travel details, and any other information the Attorney General requires. The place where they register must keep additional records: a physical description, the exact law for the offense, criminal history (dates of arrests and convictions, parole/probation/supervision status, registration status, and any outstanding warrants), a current photo, fingerprints and palm prints, a DNA sample, and a copy of a valid driver’s license or ID, plus any other Attorney General-required information. Sex offenders must give and update this information, including travel plans, when and how the Attorney General says.
