Title 34 › Subtitle Subtitle III— - Prevention of Particular Crimes › Chapter CHAPTER 301— - COMPUTER CRIMES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CRIMES › § 30102
The Attorney General must set up regional computer forensics labs and help existing ones so they can do forensic exams of seized or intercepted computer evidence for crimes (including cyberterrorism), train federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutors, help enforce computer-crime laws, share federal expertise and information with state and local partners (including through multijurisdictional task forces), and carry out other needed activities. Congress authorized $50,000,000 each fiscal year to pay for this, and the money remains available until expended.
