Requires States to have a system to collect DNA profiles or DNA data from people who are at least 18 years old when they are arrested or charged for certain serious crimes, and to put that DNA into the National DNA Index System. The covered crimes are homicide; sex crimes that carry more than 1 year in prison; kidnapping/abduction with more than 1 year in prison; burglary with more than 1 year in prison; and aggravated assault with more than 1 year in prison. DNA arrestee collection process — a State’s method for collecting and submitting those DNA profiles or data. State — any U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
