Summary

Each year the President is asked to officially declare September 15 through October 15 as National Hispanic Heritage Month. The President is also asked to encourage Americans, especially schools, to observe it with suitable ceremonies and activities.

Title 36, §126

Patriotic and National Observances — Source: USLM XML via OLRC

The President is requested to issue each year a proclamation—
(1)designating September 15 through October 15 as National Hispanic Heritage Month; and
(2)calling on the people of the United States, especially the educational community, to observe National Hispanic Heritage Month with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
