Summary

Allows the American Battle Monuments Commission to create, use, register, and license trademarks, service marks, copyrights (under section 105 of title 17), and patents. The Commission can also accept gifts of those items and give exclusive or nonexclusive licenses to use them, unless doing so would break a contract or existing license that controls the item. The Commission can sue in U.S. district courts to protect its marks, copyrights, or patents. The Attorney General must give legal help for those cases, and the Secretary of Defense must represent the Commission in proceedings before the Patent and Trademark Office and the Copyright Office. Section 203 of title 17 does not apply to copyrights transferred to the Commission.
