The corporation must follow its articles of incorporation, constitution, and bylaws and keep several clear goals. It must protect the U.S. Constitution and work to make life better for Vietnam‑era veterans. It must support veterans’ education, economic, social, physical, and cultural well‑being and help them grow, readjust, and regain self‑respect and usefulness. It must improve conditions and create ways to help and communicate with Vietnam‑era veterans. It must do nonpartisan research on veterans’ place in society, the Vietnam War experience, the U.S. role in world peace, and other issues that affect veterans and their families. It must assist disabled veterans, veterans in need, and their dependents and survivors, and encourage members and veterans to help one another and serve the country.
