The corporation cannot sell stock or pay dividends. It must not use its activities, money, income, or property to take part in political campaigns or to try to influence laws. The corporation and its directors or officers, when acting for the corporation, may not give money to, support, or join in political activity or try to sway legislation. The corporation’s money or assets cannot go to a director, officer, or member while its charter under this law is in effect, except the board may approve reasonable pay or expense reimbursement. The corporation can make grants to a Federal Bar Association chapter even if an officer or member belongs to that chapter, and it may pay employees reasonable wages. The corporation may not lend money to its directors, officers, members, or employees. Members and private people are not responsible for the corporation’s debts. The corporation may not claim Congress or the U.S. government approves or controls its actions, but it may say it has this charter.
