The FFA can do many things to run itself and carry out its purposes. It has 12 specific powers, such as making and changing rules and creating local and State chapters; making a seal, symbols, and badges; hiring officers and staff; making contracts; buying, renting, owning, mortgaging, or selling property; borrowing money and using property to secure loans; giving prizes, awards, loans, and grants; making publications and websites; supplying official materials to chapters and members; suing or being sued; and doing any other acts needed to meet its goals.
